Greg Thompson agrees. He thinks the council should let the pool set for awhile to see if there is an interested group willing to lease the pool. Carol Lunsford talked With Rod Good. Mr. Good asked her why council did not ask the township to help. He doesn't want to see the pool bulldozed. Mayor stated the township could not authorize the spending of money inside the village. David Mays would support the idea of a group of citizens taking over the liability and maintenance of the pool. Mayor Suggs explained the well protection plan. David Mays stated the village needs to do something, but can not wait for a long period of time because of the liability. Mayor Suggs stated that he asked two people to spearhead a committee, but both declined. Council will wait for a few months for a committee to take action. There is a chain link fence around the pool with the gates locked. "No trepassing" signs are posted. Motion: David Mays moved to table the pool discussion until more council members are present, seconded by Ian Campbell. VV: 4 yea.
NEW BUSINESS: Motion: Greg Thompson moved to go into executive session for a conference with the village solicitor involving a matter of pending litigation, seconded by Ian Campbell. Roll call vote: 4 yea.
Went into executive session at 8:00 P.M.
Back in regular session at 8:45 P.M. No action taken. Motion: Ian Campbell moved to give the Mayor the authority to hire the solicitor and any other legal counsel he deems necessary to defend and protect the rights and interests of the village in the case involving Gasper Township's appeal of the 2005 distribution of the undivided local government fund and the undivided local government revenue assistance fund in the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, including any related matters, under the terms of hire acceptable to said legal counsel, seconded by Greg Thompson. Rull call vote: 4 yea. Motion: Carol Lunsford moved to have a special meeting Monday, June 26th at 7:00 P.M., seconded by Greg Thompson. VV: 4 yea. Motion: Greg Thompson moved to adjourn, seconded by Ian Campbell.
