Planning Commission Meeting

The minutes of the June 6, 2005, meeting were distributed. 
Motion:
Rod Blair made a motion the minutes be approved; Marilyn Dafler seconded; motion carried. 

Bill Bliss, Zoning Inspector, distributed a drawing for a garage under construction on the property of  Ben Branham, 52 Central Avenue.  Mr. Branham tore down the old garage and started building a new enlarged garage that does not meet zoning specifications.  After discussion, Mr. Branham was asked to submit a plot plan for approval of a variance at a special meeting on Monday, July 11.

Greg and Lizzie Drakelman, 29 East Dayton Street, are planning an antique business located in their home, which will continue to also be their personal residence, and have also added a small building on the back of their lot.  They requested a variance for the parking on the back lot due to not having adequate space for required parking ordinance.  Mr. Schenck stated we will review the request and they may be contacted to come to the July 11 meeting.

A variance from Robert Bell, 35 Smith Street, for addition to existing house, was approved.

A variance submitted by Dennis Brubaker to build garage 6 foot off property line instead of 10 foot was presented.  Rod Blair moved variance be accepted; Marilyn Dafler seconded; motion approved.

Several members of the Kiwanis Club of West Alexandria were present and President, Deborah Jorgenson, and Ralph Habekost, Jr. presented their ideas for a Honor Walkway at Peace Park.  After hearing the plans for the walkway, Russ Schenck asked them to present a drawing and written proposal at the special meeting on Monday, July 11. 

A plot plan and deed description 300-794 for the property owned by Jim Robbins located on Stotler Road (next to lift station) was presented. 
Motion:
Marilyn Dafler moved for acceptance of the plot plan and deed 300-794 based on Kramer & Associates approval; Rod Blair seconded, motion approved.

With no further business, meeting was adjourned.
