A special Planning Commission meeting was called to order by President, Russ Schenck, on Monday, March 28, 2005, to review the plans for the Dayton Street improvements and Third Street improvements, phase 3.  Kevin Elliott with Kramer & Associates was present to discuss project plans. 

Chris Day and Kevin Elliott updated the Commission on the project and the sidewalks and curbing details were discussed.  The Commission agreed that the newer sidewalks located in front of the Lindloff Zimmerman Funeral Home and several other properties to the west and east of the funeral home to remain and not be replaced.  Mr. Elliott stated that the new walks and curbing can be graded to connect with the existing walks and curbs. 

There was discussion of how much of the business district to place sidewalks and curbs without green space.  The Commission recommended that two blocks east and west (each block divided by alley) of the intersection of State Routes 35 (Dayton Street) and 503 (Main Street) have sidewalks and curbs without green space.  Mr. Elliott asked for leniency to play with the cross slopes at intersections.

Mr. Elliott presented diagram A as a recommended curb and gutter standard.
Motion:
After discussion, Mayor Suggs made a motion to accept diagram A, Curb & Gutter Detail Standard, dated 3/28/05.  Marilyn Dafler seconded; motion carried.   
Motion:
Mayor Suggs made a motion to recommend to the Village Council for their approval the Dayton Street Improvements and Third Street Improvements, Phase 3 for Villiage of West Alexandria Preble County Ohio 2005; seconded by Russ Schenck; motion carried.

With no further business, Marilyn Dafler moved for adjournment, seconded by Mayor Suggs.
