Planning Commission Meeting
Date: Monday, March 7, 2005 Time: 6:00 p.m. Village Council Chambers
Present: Mitch Suggs, Mayor Russ Schenck Marilyn Dafler
Minutes from the February 14, 2005, meeting were distributed. Motion: Mayor Mitch Suggs moved the minutes be approved; seconded by Marilyn Dafler; motion carried. Mayor Suggs stated he worked on a letter to be sent to a village resident on South Main Street regarding a request to build a three car garage in the R2 district. Bill Bliss reapplied for the Zoning Inspector position. Motion: Marilyn Dafler made a motion to recommend Bill Bliss to Village Council for the Zoning Inspector position; Mitch Suggs seconded; motion carried.
Chris Day distributed copies of the ordinance regulating the number of water meters and taps to multi-unit properties with revision to Section 3 as recommended at the February 14 meeting. This ordinance will be given to Attorney Rick Faber for revision and Mayor Suggs will present to Village Council for the first reading on this date.
Chris Day gave an update on the annexation of properties on the east and west side of State Route 35 west of the Village. He reported he had talked with Jim Gross and he was very receptive to pursuing annexation of his property and also permits review of the previous survey work done. A letter stating the cost for annexation has been drafted to the realtor selling the property located on the east side of State Route 35. Chris and Mayor Suggs will also attend Twin and Lanier Township meetings to inform them of the pursuit of annexation of these properties.
Discussion was held concerning the Standard Drawings distributed at our last meeting. Chris will compile additional reports for Standards so we can move ahead to adopt a set of Standards for the Village. He will also research standards for sidewalks and curbs allowing for green space and bring them to the next meeting. Motion: With no further business, Mayor Mitch moved for adjournment, seconded by Russ Schenck.
