Minutes of May15, 2006 Council Meeting(cont)
Chris Day has picked up the "no parking" signs and his workers will start installing them. Letters went out to residents who needed to mow their grass and weeds. Ads for bids on the Brock Unger Ditch project are ready to put in the paper. Bid opening will be June 7th at 11:00 A.M. at the commissioners' office. Mr. Day mentioned that the wage ordinance states minimum wage for a part time worker. He would like to raise the rate. He would like to have a casual laborer with no benefits for mowing and custodial work. Rick Faber stated that the ordinance needs to be amended.
CLERK: Gave April monthly report.
EMS: Asst. Chief reported that Steve Helling resigned effective April 1, 2006. Motion: Russ Schenck moved to accept his resignation, seconded by David Mays. VV: 6 yea.
INCOME TAX ADMINISTRATOR: Karen Mays gave a written report to council. She is reviewing a draft ordinance. Carlisle closed down. This may have an effect on revenue. She has compiled a list of delinquent tax filers.
BUDGET: David Mays reported about the meeting with the Tax Appeals Board in Columbus. Council has a copy of the compilation of numbers by Gasper Township (which may or may not be correct). Gasper Township filed the lawsuit because they wanted more money, but did not want to tax their people. The entities and the county need to get together in reference to the allocation of local government money.
Carol Lunsford left at 8:13 P.M.
OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: None. Motion: Greg Thompson moved to adjourn, seconded by David Mays.
